Having a healthy pregnancy diet is important while you are growing a little one inside of you. You should be consuming about three hundred extra calories per day as compared to before you became pregnant.

It is recommended that you have six to eleven servings of grains and breads, two to four of fruit, four or more vegetable servings and three servings of protein from sources such as fish, poultry, meat, nuts or eggs.

You need to make sure as well that you are getting all of your minerals and vitamins in your pregnancy diet. Prenatal vitamin supplements will ensure that you are getting enough of these consistently each day.
You can talk to your doctor about a recommended over-the-counter brand for you, or they can prescribe one to you as well.
Get Enough Calcium
A diet for pregnant women should also have plenty of foods that are calcium rich. You should be getting around 1000-1300 mg of calcium each day you are pregnant. You can get this from low fat milk, hard cheeses and yogurt, to name a few.
